How to Apply for Pan card online and offline? (from your home)

How to apply for Pan card Online?

An applicant can apply for a pan card online through NSDL or UTIISL websites. It’s a very simple and easy process.

To apply for pan card online follow these steps:

  1. Visit NSDL site to apply for Pan card from here
  2. For new pan application, in application type Select- “New Pan-Indian citizen(Form 49AA)pan card apply
  3. Select your category like Individual, Association of Persons, Company, Trust, etc.pan card apply
  4. Enter your First Name, Middle Name, Last name in particular box.
  5. Enter Date of Birth(DOB), E-MAIL ID and Mobile number.pan card apply
  6. Enter the Captcha code and click on “Submit” Button.
  7. After submitting a form, you will get a message regarding the next step. Click to “Continue with the PAN Application Form“.pan card apply
  8. You will redirect to the new page where you have to enter your personal information.
  9. You have to submit your digital E-KYC on this page. The first option is preferable for e-KYC which is paperless. So, you can click on the first option.pan card apply
  10. Enter your aadhar number’s last four digits and name as per aadhar.pan card apply
  11. Now, enter your Father and Mother details (Parent’s details) like First name, Middle name and Last name.pan card apply
  12. After click on “NEXT” button, you will land to another page. You have to fill “Contact & Other details” here.
  13. You have to select on your “source of income” like salary, business, house property, etc.
  14. Fill the information like your address of communication, Residental address, office address, telephone number & email id, etc.
  15. After click on “Next”, on another page fill AO code (Area code) details, which can be found in the below tab.pan card apply
  16. Click “Next” again and submit your documentation and declaration. Select your “Proof of Identity“, “Proof of Address” and “Proof of DOB“. You can use the Aadhar card in all. Then click to Submit button.pan card apply
  17. After this, check all the details you have entered in the form. If you are sure all the details are correct, hit to “Proceed” Button.
  18. You will be redirected to the payment page. Select the payment option like net banking/debit card/credit card and make the payment.
  19. After making the payment, you will get an acknowledge form with a 16 digit number. Take the printout of this form.
  20. Attach 2 photographs and put a sign on the acknowledge form (in space provided).
  21. Attach all self-attested documents mentioned in the form. (You can also attach demand draft if you have not done the payment online)
  22. Post these documents along with the form to the NSDL address, which is mentioned below:-

NOTE:- label the envelope as APPLICATION FOR PAN— Your Acknowledgement Number’.

In this way, you can apply for a pan card online. You can also check your pan card status through the enrolment number online.

Your Pan card will be delivered to your residential address within 15-20 days.

How to apply for Pan card Offline

If you don’t want to apply online for a pan, you can apply offline for a pan card. All you need to do is fill an application form copy.

To apply pan card offline follow the steps below:

  • First of all, download and print the Form_49A_PDF from here.pan card application
  • Fill the form and stick two passport size photographs on the form.
  • You have to pay the fees in the form of Demand Draft. The demand draft should be in favor of “NSDL-PAN“.
  • Attach the photocopies of self-attested proofs like proof of identity, residential address, etc. along with the form.pan card application
  • Mention ‘APPLICATION FOR PAN- YourAcknowledgement Number’ superscripted on the envelope of the application form.
  • Send this application to the address-

The pan will be delivered to the residential address of the applicant. It will take normally 15-20 days to deliver the pan card from the date of application.
